UtilityDock ("the app") is a developer toolbox for macOS, developed by Dongshen Wang. The app is local-first by design: everything you type is processed and stored on your Mac.
We do not operate any server that collects user data. This policy explains how the app handles your data — and, more importantly, how it does not.
2.We Do Not Collect Any Data
No collection
No accounts, no analytics events, no ads, no crash reporting
No tracking
No cross-app or cross-site tracking of any kind
No third-party SDKs
No analytics, advertising, or tracking components bundled
As declared on the App Store privacy label, the app is "Data Not Collected" and does not use data for tracking.
3.Data Stored on Your Device
The following data lives only on your Mac to keep the app working. It never leaves your device:
Data
What it is
Where it lives
Preferences
Interface language, theme, window state
On-device (system preferences storage)
Tool content & sessions
Text you enter in tools, recents, session restore
On-device (inside the app sandbox)
API environments & history
API environments you configure and request history
On-device (inside the app sandbox)
Sensitive credentials
API tokens and similar secrets
macOS Keychain (system-level encryption)
Code snippets
Snippets you save
On-device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM
Uninstalling the app removes this local data. Keychain items can be deleted manually via the system Keychain Access tool. We have no way to read or delete any of it remotely.
4.Network Access
Zero network requests by default. All 30 built-in tools run offline and work fully without a network connection.
One exception: the API Client tool, which contacts only the endpoints you explicitly enter (including local or intranet debug addresses). Every request is initiated by you.
No telemetry. The app never sends usage data, diagnostics, or anything else to the developer or any third-party server.
5.Permissions & Sandbox
The app runs inside the macOS sandbox and does not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera. When files are involved (for example opening JSON, certificates, or images), the app reads only the files you explicitly select through drag-and-drop or the open panel — it never scans your disk.
6.Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
